but is it curable?

How can the condition be managed and what are the major triggers?

More importantly, what are the latest treatments available for rosacea? Or those who feel that they look like they’re constantly blushing.

There are many causes believed to trigger or exacerbate rosacea. However, none of these causes are definitive so the jury is still out there on what exactly causes this skin condition.

Can Botox Cause Wrinkles?

frown lines Can Botox Cause Wrinkles?Given the popularity of botox in recent years, many have touted this temporary wrinkle fix as the best thing since sliced bread.

Or is it?

So far, the only negatives to botox are over injection – which causes freezing or drooping of the face – and of course being injected with one of the most deadly toxins known to man.

But if it is done correctly by a skilled and qualified doctor, results are generally good.

Yet ironically, it has recently been revealed that botox may cause more wrinkles.

Antioxidants Alone Can’t Fix Aging – Part 2

In part one of this post, I explained why antioxidants are not the be all of anti-aging solutions. There’s absolutely nothing wrong if you’re happy with your antioxidant pills, but you’re better off getting antioxidants PLUS other nutrients from whole foods rather than from isolated synthetics in a capsule.

That said, what are the compounds that will reduce oxidation better than antioxidants?

Fats.

You Look Like What You Eat

greasypizza1 You Look Like What You EatBeauty is skin deep.
Well now you can take that line literally.

Everything you see when you look in a mirror is not entirely due to genetics (stop blaming your parents).

A big chunk of it is formed by what you fed yourself (if you parents fed you bad food then you can blame them).

For decades, dermatologists and doctors believed that diet had nothing to do with what you look like.

“Pimples aren’t caused by eating pizza and sweets” they say.

“You can have junk food in moderation and you’ll be okay” and my favorite would be “Take this medication and you can continue eating whatever you want without suffering too much from diabetes” <- yes a doctor actually said that to my boyfriend’s diabetic mother.

Human Brain Shrinking For The Last 20,000 Years

According to a new report, human brains have been gradually shrinking over the last 20,000 years – even though the brain size of every race and both sexes grew steadily in the preceding two million years.

So what happened? Are we homo sapiens getting dumber?

They say that average volume had decreased by about the size of a tennis ball. Surely that would impact intelligence. Or does it?

cosmetics 300x195 Top 5 Beauty MythsMyth 5: Mascara causes lashes break off

Mascara can’t break lashes off per se. But it can prevent growth of some new lashes if the formula of the mascara blocks the lash follicle. However, wearing loads of mascara and leaving them on for days on end may cause breakage from the root due to the weight of product causing the lash to become weak and brittle. Always remove mascara and eye make up before you sleep to prevent eye infections.

French Paradox

The French drink like fish and smoke like chimneys – not exactly the ideal candidates for healthy living. But you’ll be surprised at how other aspects of their lifestyle can benefit your health and help you lose weight.

Sounds unbelievable? Let’s have a look.

The term “French Paradox” was coined because despite the heavy drinking of wine, consumption of saturated fat rich foods and pastries, little exercise performed and equivalent smoking rates to the US, the French are more slender, have lower rates of heart disease and have higher life expectancy compared to the US.
